Beethoven & Brahms - Traverse Symphony Orchestra

Beethoven & Brahms - Traverse Symphony Orchestra

Beethoven & Brahms - Bridget-Michaele Reischl, conductor, Kathryn Brown, pianist. Performance is Saturday, April 19 at 8 p.m. at Corson Auditorium, on the campus of the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Pianist Kathryn Brown will perform one of the great works for classical piano by the greatest of all classical composers, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. Maestro Reischl conducts Brahms’s powerful First Symphony – the work that marked him as the heir to the grand Romantic symphonic tradition of Beethoven himself. Kathryn Brown, a friend and former schoolmate of Maestro Rhodes at Michigan State University, is on the piano faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music. She performs internationally as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist. She performed her New York Solo Debut Recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. One of only five Americans invited to compete in the Eighth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition; she has appeared in recital at the Library of Congress and Columbia Artists’ Community Concerts Series. She is pianist and co-founder of the Myriad Chamber Players, a 17-member ensemble comprised of members of The Cleveland Orchestra and international soloists. For tickets, call 231- 947-7120

Nicole Hulet - Coldwell Banker Schmidt - Rookie of the Year Award

Nicole Hulet of the 548 East Front Street Coldwell Banker Schmidt office was presented the "Rookie of the Year" award for 2007. Coldwell Banker's "Celebration of Excellence" ceremony was held last night at the Grand Traverse Resort. Although Nicole is no "Rookie" (she has held her real estate license since the mid 90s, using it in conjunction with vacation rental management) she was honored to receive the award. Nicole has had great success introducing new owners to the Peninsula Bay Resort Condominiums over the last 2+ years. She sells what she believes in and her heart belongs to Peninsula Bay. Nicole, coupled with a great team from Coldwell Banker, the once thought dim future of the project has turned full circle and this East Bay opportunity has been realized. She plans to continue matching new owners with this high quality complex through this summer 2008.

Spring is "in the air" in Traverse City

Sun, Sun, and more Sun... Warm temps in Traverse City today. Lots of melting snow and roof-tops were pitter-patter with dripping water drops. Grass appeared in spots where it wasn't just a few days ago. People out jogging in shorts and t-shirts. March is always a funny month in Michigan and I think especially in Traverse City with the Great Lakes contributing their mix of weather phenomenons. Some of our bigger winter storms seem to crop up in March. Never long lasted is the snow that falls this time of year. Supposed to be warm most of next week in Traverse City, we will see. If the forecast is correct, we may be well on our way to a hopeful spring!
