Students from the NMC Astronomy Club and Grand Traverse Astronomical Society are hosting an opportunity to Stargaze in order to expose more people to astronomy. They have scheduled weekly viewing nights to commemorate 2009 as the International Year of Astronomy. Programming will be different each week. Souvenirs like a "star finder" map of the sky will be available.

Northwestern Michigan College's Automotive Technology Program is hosting the 3rd Annual Mike McIntosh Memorial Classic Car and 4X4 Show from 11am-3pm on Saturday, September 6th at NMC's Automotive Technology Building on Aero Park Drive. Rain date is September 13th.

Public viewing at Rogers Observatory 12/20/2007
From 8 to 10 p.m., the public may use telescopes at Northwestern Michigan College's Rogers Observatory to view Venus early (hopefully), and later the Orion Nebula. If it is cloudy, the event may be canceled. If weather conditions and staffing permit, viewing hours may be extended. The Rogers Observatory is at 1753 Brimley Road, between Keystone Road and Garfield Road in Garfield Township. For more information, contact Bob Moler at 946-8649.
