Performance is Saturday, April 19 at 8 p.m. at Corson Auditorium, on the campus of the Interlochen Center for the Arts. Pianist Kathryn Brown will perform one of the great works for classical piano by the greatest of all classical composers, Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 3. Maestro Reischl conducts Brahms’s powerful First Symphony – the work that marked him as the heir to the grand Romantic symphonic tradition of Beethoven himself. Kathryn Brown, a friend and former schoolmate of Maestro Rhodes at Michigan State University, is on the piano faculty of the Cleveland Institute of Music. She performs internationally as a recitalist, chamber musician and concerto soloist. She performed her New York Solo Debut Recital at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall. One of only five Americans invited to compete in the Eighth Van Cliburn International Piano Competition; she has appeared in recital at the Library of Congress and Columbia Artists’ Community Concerts Series. She is pianist and co-founder of the Myriad Chamber Players, a 17-member ensemble comprised of members of The Cleveland Orchestra and international soloists. For tickets, call 231- 947-7120
